What is the Enigma Fund?
The Enigma fund (Previously named the Presidents fund) is a special fund that is run independently from NWARG with its own separate management committee. The fund exists to provide grants to club members who may be struggling financially to fund equipment or projects necessary to enjoy and further pursue the hobby of amateur radio.
How do you apply to the Enigma Fund?
To apply for a Enigma Fund grant you will need to contact the fund secretary with details of your equipment or project requirements. The secretary will discuss your application with you and then take the application to the fund committee who will consider every application individually.
Is the application confidential?
Yes, very much so. The Enigma Fund committee appreciate that being in a bad financial situation can be embarrassing so will deal with your application in complete confidence. The committee members will only be given an application number when considering your application. Your name, callsign, membership details etc will not be made available to them and will not be published in any form at any time.
Is the fund a loan?
No, the fund provides equipment or funds certain projects, these are not loans. If your application is approved the Presidents Fund will provide you with the equipment you have requested or fund your project, however the Presidents fund will not provide cash to the applicant. The equipment provided becomes your property under your care, it is not on loan and the fund will never ask for its return.
Can I donate to the fund?
Yes we would gladly accept donations from members in support of the fund. To donate please contact the funds secretary.
