On the 8th of August 2023 the North Wales Amateur Radio Group held its annual summer BBQ at its HQ in Mochdre Village Hall, Old Conway Rd, Mochdre, Colwyn Bay LL28 5HU. The weather forecast for the day didn’t look good at all but on the day the weather defied the weatherman and the sunshine shone upon us. We had some 30plus NWARG members in attendance and were joined by our friends from the Wirral peninsula amateur radio club ( https://www.wparc.co.uk ) to enjoy not only our stunning companionship but also our amazing raffle and a gorgeous BBQ of course!
Thanks to Tony Mottram and his lovely wife Caz worked hard setting up the event on the day and then spent most of the BBQ cooking the burgers and sausages that everybody enjoyed and to our Secretary Sandra who behind the scenes worked hard to organise and plan the event.
Apart from the delicious food the other major highlight of the event of course was the raffle. This years raffle was indeed a stunner with many exciting prizes ranging from a fluffy bunny to a Retevis RT3S DMR Digital Radio which was donated by Claudia from Retevis ( https://www.retevis.com ). The Retevis RT3S DMR Digital Radio is available to purchase from Amazon and is indeed a superb DMR radio.
